The article discusses the outbreak of Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) in Kyankwanzi and Nakaseke, Uganda in August-September 2017. Topics discussed include the confirmation of CCHF cases via serology and reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) testing, the exposure of some suspected and confirmed-case patients to tick, and the deployment of a rapid response team to manage the outbreak.
