Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine if using EMDR therapy to treat a married partnerâs trauma would improve marital satisfaction. The project utilized an n-of-1 single case study design with a participant who qualified for the study with a diagnosis of PTSD and notable marital dissatisfaction. The study also utilized a telebehavioral therapy method to deliver the EMDR modality. The design prescribed between three and twelve EMDR sessions. After the completion of seven EMDR sessions the participant reported notable marital satisfaction and no longer qualified for a diagnosis of PTSD.
