Abstract

Every year, thousands of people are fleeing their homes in search of safety. In 2018 over 65million people were on the move, either within their country or across borders. Sub-Saharan Africa continues to accommodate the largest population of people of concern worldwide creating dire need to support the People of Concern. AIRD has continued to work with UNHCR and other development partners to support programs and operations in our 9 countries of operation. In 2018, we expanded further to include Niger into our programmes. In our collaboration, we continue to deliver high quality Logistics and Supply Chain Management to ensure that those taking the brave decision to leave their homes are transported safely to their final destinations. AIRD recognizes that there are wider issues affecting refugees and Internally Displaced People and the host communities where they find themselves. As such we are also looking to the future to consider ways of expanding our programmes to provide broader assistance to these communities. This report presents you details of our yearâs accomplishments along with some personal stories from the field. This was only possible because of our committed and hard working staff, together with the generous support of our donors and partners.
