Summary
Background: Accurate vaccination data is critical for immunization program management, yet Uganda's Health Management Information System (HMIS) faces challenges with incomplete and inaccurate vaccination records. Findings: Strategies to improve data capture include digital data tools and mHealth solutions, capacity building for health workers on data management, supervision and feedback mechanisms, integration of community-level data, and improving data use culture. Conclusion: Improving HMIS vaccination data quality requires a systems approach addressing human, technical, and organizational factors simultaneously.
