Summary

Background: Hepatitis B is a major global occupational health hazard, with healthcare workers having a higher prevalence of HBV infection than the general population. Vaccination is recommended to reduce the incidence of infection among these workers. Findings: Hepatitis B vaccines significantly reduce hepatitis B events. The deltoid intramuscular route is more effective than the gluteal route. Engerix vaccine shows higher efficacy than Recombivax. Conclusion: Hepatitis B vaccination is crucial for protecting health workers, reducing infections and the need for post-exposure prophylaxis.
