Summary
Background: There have been several outcries from believers and leaders of religious sects in Uganda for the government to allow places of worship to reopen. There are questions of how places of worship will be able to observe public safety guidelines against COVID-19. Findings: Standard operating procedures for places of worship should contain: hand hygiene practices, face coverings, cleaning and disinfection, physical distancing, minimizing sharing of worship materials, screening for fevers, and keeping records of all participants. Conclusion: SOPs for places of worship should be comprehensive and customized to the culture and proceedings of respective religions.
