Summary
Background: Immunization is a critical public health intervention, significantly reducing the burden of infectious diseases. Effective implementation of immunization policies is essential to achieve desired health outcomes, including herd immunity. Findings: Key implementation considerations include: the cost of immunization, proven strategies to increase coverage (e.g., community health workers, home visits, health education), and barriers to successful implementation and strategies to mitigate them. Conclusion: Successful implementation of the national immunization policy requires careful consideration of costs, evidence-based strategies, and addressing potential barriers.
